Given the overall lack of trust that exists in our community concerning Richmond Public Schools, no doubt exacerbated by the district's tendency to do things at the last minute and to present highly inaccurate information, what sense does it make?
How are parents and citizens to know what the truth is here when the data presented are at odds with other data elsewhere? Worse yet, the level of due diligence to be expected is sorely lacking in sophistication or detail. Here is an example of information available in guidance documents from California: http://www.dtsc.ca.gov/
FEMA, EPA, and Headstart violations of Norrell Elementary
elementary, parents for life, racism, Richmond, R VA, school board, school board meeting with thanks to Jonathan Cunningham for research !
Some folks helping Parents For Life 2012, did some research today. In less than 2 hours, using google, they were able to find evidence to support the case that AV Norrell Elementary is NOT fit to be re-opened.
Please read the articles below, and look out for an upcoming report from them on what can be found with the articles.

For anyone interested in the history. The name of test sites over the years has always been listed differently to prevent all testing to be placed in one file. If you want to search you have to use all the old names for the site. VDEQ has documents with several different name of the same general area. I will list a few. Fells Street Landfill, Norrell School, Norrell Elementary, Norrell Elementary School, Battery Park, Wickham Court, School Street and First Tee. If you use Lexus Nexus Law system search Robertson & Robertson VS City of Richmond. If you use the library look up the Draft Environmental Assessment of Battery Park. If you really want to dig look up Texaco, Phillip Morris and Rocket Fuel......6 55 gallon drums of missing fuel and 2 landfills it could have gone in. Fells is one....
